Garstang Marina is a family owned and operated business which was initially opened with a single basin in 1995. Development expanded to Basin Two in 2000 and Basin Three in 2003 with slight modifications and extensions in 2009. The Marina now accommodates over 270 moorings facilitating boats up to 70ft. The basins are uniquely set lower than ground level thus creating a valley effect which provides a sheltered environment for the boats. The tranquil setting is well landscaped and maintained to a high standard.
The Marina is within easy walking distance of Garstang, the World's First Fair Trade Market Town. Fairtrade Town initiatives based on the 'Garstang Model' are following in Garstang's footsteps and are now running all over the world.
Garstang is close to the historic town of Lancaster, the Trough of Bowland and within a short drive of the Lake District and Cumbrian Fells. Preston and Blackpool are also within easy reach.
Every Thursday is Market day in Garstang. The stalls lining the High Street and Church Street offer a selection of foods, clothing and decorative gifts, and the traders are always cheerful and welcoming. As well as the outdoor market there is an indoor market held four days a week. Garstang Tourist Information offers a wealth of information on local attractions, forthcoming events and organised walks along the many walkways taking you into the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Many leisurely hours can be spent on the 'The Lancaster Canal'. The bonus of this canal is that it has 42 lock free miles with fantastic scenic views and sunsets.
